this is the first time that I've read you, so the first time for you to see this male face here in your comment section. I appreciate you following me on twitter today– and I heart your words. Mad respect for the great lizard Hunter – and the mother who watches over him as he alters the landscaping to capture the prey. It's a delightful story – and you – an awesome storyteller. Smiling. Thank you. God bless you and keep you – and each and every one of yours. :-)

We have certainly had to get creative! We have branched out to including leftovers; rice & beans, pasta etc. I am currently inspired by the Japanese art of charaben bento which makes lunches into art and the boys' reaction to them is unfailingly good even when including unfamiliar foods! Happy Packing! RS

Not to worry Ally, you are not the only Mum feeding your children real food in Flower Mound Texas. Not only do my children not eat packaged foods but they don't eat meat. Ask your group of suburban mothers to get their heads around that one. I was very proud one day walk throught Tom Thumb when my then 5 year old ask me, "Mommy, what is a Pop tart?" Take up the good fight. Our children and their children will be healthier for it.

There are some moms in my babysitting co-op who still joke about my feeding the 1-year-olds hummus, cottage cheese and couscous. The beat part is that they discovered their kids loved the foods they otherwise wouldn't dare to try. :) We need to have a cooking party. C.J. loves helping me cook every night!
